How long have you been on this weight loss journey?
My weight loss journey started about twelve years ago. My journey with LiveFit started in January 2017.

Weight Loss/Inches: Not only have I lost nearly 20 pounds and several inches since January, my cholesterol has dropped 30 points (triglycerides dropped nearly 60 points). I have to give the credit to LiveFit and the Best Body Countdown!

{Your Story}


Growing up, I never had trouble with weight. I was very active in school with dance, and I was fortunate that my metabolism continued even after becoming less active. While I was pregnant with my daughter thirteen years ago, I ate everything in sight. Not a big deal since I was eating for two, right? Afterwards, those 70 pounds were very easy to shed. I was in my mid-20s. Then in my early 30s, my son came along. I had the same mentality about eating for two, so I gained 70 pounds again. However, those 70 pounds were not so easy to lose after giving birth. I think I lost the equivalent to the weight of my son and not much more. I got in a rut and honestly didn’t care. In 2014, I lost my father to cancer. I think that was when I realized I should take better care of myself. I joined a gym (the kind which had your typical weights and cardio equipment). I saw a little difference, but I just couldn’t stick with it. I always had to go alone since my husband had to stay at home to watch the kids.

What was my low point?
Fast-forward three years later to January 2017. I visited the doctor for an ear infection. The nurse asked me if I realized how much weight I had gained since my physical just seven months prior in May 2016. It was a bit shocking!

How did you get started?
I remembered seeing acquaintances “checking in” to LiveFit on Facebook. I did a little research and took advantage of the new client special. My second class was Bootcamp with Becky Bowers. I think I fell in love with LiveFit that morning. I was challenged. No one judged me. Everyone was so supportive even though I was the newbie. 

What is your workout routine and eating plan?
I work out at LiveFit 3-5 days a week depending upon my schedule. I have recently signed up for Zoom Through the Zoo (4 miler) and will compete in my first race. I didn’t truly eat healthy until I began the Best Body Countdown. I limit my sugars, drink lots of water and watch my portions. It’s not always easy, but I definitely try to limit my splurges.

What are your top 3 favorite resources that helped you along the way?

1. LiveFit of course. I love the wide variety of classes – from Bootcamp to Cycling and Barre to Pure Power.
2. Best Body Countdown Cookbook – I finally found a cookbook that helped me learned how to cook healthy food that tastes great. Now that BB Countdown is over, I look forward to reviewing Adina’s new cookbook.
3. Fitbit, My Fitness Pal and Map My Run – I have all three connected, so I am able to keep up with my daily activity and track my food and water intake.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting?
Don’t just sit on the sidelines and do nothing. You aren’t getting any younger, and your family wants and needs you to be around. If I can work full time and be a full time mother all while eating & becoming healthier, anyone can!

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is in the process, but is feeling discouraged?
Don’t be discouraged. Make sure you are eating your veggies, drink lots of water and try new exercises. Be sure to mix up your exercises too!
