How long have you have been a part of the LiveFit team? I joined the LiveFit team in early May and taught my first class on Friday, May 5th.
What classes do you teach? I am currently teaching Pure Power Thursday mornings at 5AM & 6AM and Cardiokick Friday morning at 6AM. I love to sub other classes when I have the opportunity. I have experience teaching Barre, HIIT, bootcamp, cycle and core.

{Your Story}
What inspired you to start a career in fitness? . My favorite part about my job as an IT manager is being able to make an impact on people’s lives each day. I love to watch the growth of each individual. I have been in management for a little over 10 years now and my husband has been in the health and fitness world for 11 years. Health and fitness has always been a passion of ours as a family, but I started out my fitness with a more independent sport in running then slowly started to attend group fitness classes. I was quickly inspired by the encouraging relationships built and being surrounded by other people sharing the same passion. I knew right then I wanted to take my passion of leading people into the fitness world.
What do you love about your job? . I love building relationships individually. Everyone has different goals and getting to listen to those goals and share my passion with others brings me love and joy, whether it be with my job as an IT manager or with health and fitness.
What is your favorite workout to do on your own? Although it’s probably one of my most challenging exercises mentally, I make it a goal to do pull ups once a week. It is extremely empowering to me to be able to do unassisted pulls-up and to add on to the amount I am able to do. There are many benefits to pull-ups. My favorite part is that I can feel my heart rate going up with every pull-up I do. I normally decrease the amount of time in-between sets or super-set with another exercise to keep my heart rate up and I am guaranteed to get my butt kicked in a little amount of time.
What do you love doing in your spare time? We are a very active family and we love Memphis so we are always looking for new places to eat or play, but most of all just spending time with family is what I love to do. We are a bunch of goofballs and we try not to take each other too seriously. We also spend quite a bit of time at sporting events for my son. Garrett plays competitive soccer, baseball, and basketball so he keeps us busy, but we love watching his games as a family.
What are 3 things people may not know about you?
1.) Public speaking makes me extremely nervous. I would have considered myself more of an introvert up to a few years ago. I was very shy/insecure until I got to know someone more. Teaching fitness classes and one on one training built my confidence and made me more of the outgoing person I am today.
2.) I always have on warm fuzzy socks when at home, even in the summer. And I love to dance and slide around the kitchen even if there is no music playing.
3.) I played competitive volleyball growing up and although I love helping anyone with their help and fitness journey, working with athletes especially volleyball athletes is probably top on my list of favorites.
What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is on a journey to lose weight, but feeling discouraged? You are not in this alone! This is a lifestyle, not a diet so be patient with yourself. Every little bit of change to your fitness and nutrition choices bring you one step closer to a longer, healthier lifestyle.
