Profession: Retired RN and HR Professional. I am currently a volunteer nurse at the Church Health Center and at Camp Conquest.
How long have you been on this weight loss journey? Actually since the 7th grade but of late with the RYJ challenge.
Weight Loss/Inches: As of the end of RYJ I lost 10.6 pounds and 5.25 total inches. As of the beginning of the Healthy Holiday Challenge I am down another 1.2 pounds.
What was your “low point”? My low point was at the beginning of RYJ when I saw what my initial weight and measurements were. At the start I vowed I would follow the RYJ plan explicitly.
What is your workout routine and eating plan? I have been going to many of the Foreverfit boot camps since August 2014. With RYJ I made sure I went to all 4 of those boot camps each week. I also fulfilled all the weekly goals. Initially I ate exactly what the plan provided recommended. I loaded the MyFitnessPal app and over time I was able to make healthy choices and stay within my recommended calories to lose the weight. I also joined the running group as a power walker and recently completed the St. Jude half marathon on December 5th!

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting? My one piece of advice to others who are facing such a journey is to utilize the tools provided, make a commitment to themselves and stay the course even after the end of any challenges. MyFitnessPal has become my savior to help me make healthy choices.
