{Your Story}

What was your “low point”?
My low point was when I saw a picture of myself and I didn’t recognize the person in the photo. In my mind, I was still thin and healthy. The reality was much different.

How did you get started?
I began running frequently. However, that was all I did. I used my running to justify my poor eating habits. I kept telling myself that I could “run” off the calories I was consuming. I also tried multiple “fad” diets and tricks. I used weight loss shakes, weight loss coffee, and a prescription weight loss medicine. Yes, I saw some quick results with these, but the results were short-lived. As soon as I stopped those things, the weight came right back. My darkest day was in October of 2011. I had a mini-stroke. That was the most terrifying day of my life. I thought I was dying. Once I recovered from that, I decided that I really needed to get in better shape because I wanted to be around for my husband and four children. My mom asked me to try a LiveFit class with her. I thought, nah, I don’t need LiveFit. I run all the time and that’s enough. I’ll just add more running. Well, I finally gave in and went to a class. During the class, I was ashamed at how out of shape I was, even though Adina was so sweet and encouraging. I had been a collegiate athlete and still mentally thought I was in great health. How wrong I was! Once I started going to LiveFit classes regularly, it changed my life.

What is your workout routine and eating plan?
I attend at least 3 LiveFit classes per week and run 2-3 days per week for at least an hour. I love Cycling, TurboKick, and Club Livefit and I’m also a new Pure Power convert! My eating plan consists of lots of protein. I have eggs almost every morning. I eat lots of fruit and veggies. I usually have a salad with balsamic dressing for lunch. I love natural peanut butter and celery as a snack! For dinner, I try to have lean meat and veggies. I really limit my carbs and sugar. I also drink at least 100 ounces of water every day. I try to make healthy choices 85% of the time.

1.)My Fitness Pal-logging everything that goes in my mouth keeps me accountable

2.)Skinny School-this book changed my perception of food. I recognize it for what it is-fuel for my body.

3.)LiveFit Coaches-seriously, I could NOT have done this without the support, encouragement, and dedication of these amazing people! LiveFit has become a family to me!!!!

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting?
Life is so much more enjoyable when you feel good! It’s not about being skinny-it’s about being healthy and being the best YOU that you can be!!!!

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is in the process but is feeling discouraged?
Don’t give up! Even the small successes add up to big changes! Every time you say no to something unhealthy, you are taking a step in the right direction! You don’t have to be perfect all the time! Your desire to be healthy just has to be stronger than your desire to stay where you are!

Anything else you would like to share?
LiveFit has given me my life back! I was in a bad, lazy place before joining LiveFit. I was too tired to really be active with my kids. I also had no idea that the food I put into my body was such a huge factor in my health. Now, I try to teach my children healthy fitness and eating habits. I also get to share tips and encourage others on their fitness journey. I realize that it’s not just about me and my health anymore-it’s about helping others to succeed on their own journey! I wish I had started this fitness journey so much sooner! But, now that I’m in a happy, healthy place, I’m determined to never go back to who I was before! I love how good my body feels when I treat it right by exercising and eating healthy-my energy level is just incredible now. LiveFit also helped me to get out of my comfort zone and run my first full marathon in December of 2015. I never imagined that I could do that! However, because of LiveFit, I was able to!!! I never would have attempted that on my own!!!
